A lack of acknowledgement, creating doubt, keeping comments generic as possible ... all designed to perpetuate the history of racism and what happened in Charlottesville. . Virginia Governor Terry Mcauliffe said there is no place for white supremacists in Virginia, no place in America. Acknowledgement from white leadership is badly needed, that's a start. Actions make it work. Let's make it work ourselves. Let's take action. . Here we are again staring hate right in the face. Now what are we going to say? We say peace, justice, love, equality. . Yesterday I listened to a hundred or so people share about their lives, about what's not been true with them and what adds to the story they make up about it. I discovered something too. I'm way too silent. . I live with equality in my head and heart. I also don't post or write about it nearly enough, especially when I think about the immediate friends and family in my life that are affected by racism and the threat of violence every single day. So it's BS to just write or post about a sexist issue when it's about me or a race issue when it's convenient. . I truly stand for Equality. For Black Lives Matter. For Justice. For Unity. For a system that works for communities of color. Racism has no place in my language or in my life. . I'm putting out a request for comments and posts of support and love. White People - we have a tendency to be silent when "situations" like this come up. Let this be a place to start. A place to show love for friends family and co-workers in your life. . However you show acknowledgement and share that you do not support white supremacy and you DO support equality - put that into existence. It's powerful. It works. A message leads to a movement. .
